WHO ARE WE?

I’m Robert Ahrens and I started Kalama Sourdough Bakery as a homeschooling project in 2011 when I was 13!

My Mom taught me how to bake and my Grandpa helped me build the original 200 sq ft bakery.

I started by selling just 10 loaves a week at our downtown Kalama Shopping Center.

I slowly grew by selling at local Farmers Markets during the summer and gradually took on a few wholesale clients.
I've never made just standard white bread, everything we make is a true sourdough that's made

with a mother starter culture and fermented for 3 days.

We bake bread fresh and deliver within a few hours of it cooling to our amazing customers!
